PARINS Celebrated its 10th anniversary
on
Tuesday 10th November 2009 at Bentilee Neighbourhood Centre
Our Chairperson Angela Glendenning (left) chose this significant occasion to stand down from her position, all thanked her for her immense support and hard work during her time with the project. Tim Edwards (centre) from ASPIRE has agreed to take her place. Also pictured (right) Lord Mayor Jean Bowers.
During the event our partner organisations signed The PARINS Protocol, a document that further strengthens the partnership that has achieved so much over the last 10 years.

PARINS interviewed at Cre8 FM 87.7FM - Staffordshire University
Our Chair and Project Officer visited Cre8 FM to talk about encouraging the reporting of racist incidents and to offer details of the service we provide for victims here at Stoke-on-Trent Citizen's Advice Bureau.

We spoke to over 250 people about our project and about the United Strength is Stronger Declaration - all agreed to support us and signed up.

PARINS Relocation
Our partners agreed that PARINS could continue its work from Stoke-on-Trent Citizen's Advice Bureau after the closure of The North Staffordshire Racial Equality Council. This included moving the Project Officers function to Stoke-on-Trent CAB alongside the already existing functions of caseworker and administrator. A mail redirect has been put in place to pick up self reporting forms sent to our old address and the reporting hotline (01782 407947) has been transferred to our new location.

PARINS met the BME Forum
PARINS went to speak with the BME Forum at Stoke-on-Trent City Council regarding encouraging the reporting of racist incidents from their groups and the communities they serve.

First Potteries Launch ASB Policy
Antisocial Behaviour Policy launched on First Potteries Ltd Buses.
This policy had been developed by a team of organisations including First Potteries Ltd, Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council, Stoke-on-Trent Police, S-o-T City Council and PARINS. The policy enables the reporting of incidents, drivers are now equipped to make a report and assist the public to report should they encounter a problem.

A Mystery Shopping excercise commissioned by Newcastle Borough Council Community Safety Dept. They were asked to visit front line services within the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. They checked to see whether staff could assist with the reporting of racial incidents and had the resources available to do this. WELL DONE Newcastle
